Plant Feet

March 10, 2011

A speaking tip that is effective on many levels is to ground yourself by planting your feet about hip width apart. Also keep your knees soft. This is especially helpful if you tend to fidget or wander aimlessly, attempting to release nervous energy. When speaking, random, uncontrolled movements serve only to dilute your message. Instead, when you do move, move with purpose.
